2003/05 Prague and Sussex trip - Sheffield Park |

On Friday we were off to Sheffield Park, north of Chailey. I was pleased that I remembered all the turns. It’s been a long time! The park is just gorgeous at this time of the year with rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, bluebells, broom, and buttercups, all at their best. The waterfalls weren’t running as the dam on their lowest lake had burst, so they had no water to pump up and feed the falls.
On the way back we checked out Falmer Pond. This looks much the same as 50 years ago. I felt like I 
should wade out and bring home some caddis fly larvae, some newts, and a frog or two, but I don’t think Mum would have appreciated it any more now than she did back then. (Or the bus conductors, when the frogs got away.)
We met up with friends on Friday evening at the Café Rouge, on the edge on the Lanes.
