2003/10 Family news - Twin Cities Marathon |

The temperature dropped soon after I came back, and a hard freeze finished off most of the summer plants and all the bugs. It looked like it was going to be below freezing for the start of the Twin Cities Marathon, but the weather changed just in time, and conditions were ideal, mid 40s for the start and about 60 at the end. I had a good race with no injuries, but not as fast as last year. I ran fast enough for my time to count in the Corporate Team race but we only made 12th this year out of 25 companies.
A year ago we were off in Australia, and this year the American news has been revisiting some of the events that happened a year ago, like Senator Paul Wellstone’s plane crash, and the Washington snipers. This all seems strange to us as we knew nothing of the news at that time, being out in the bush and out of radio contact. What we have been doing this year is trying to remotely renew license and insurances on our Landcruiser. The Australian systems aren’t set up to handle people like us, so we’ve needed a lot of help from John. Thanks!
